Automate clearing of MS Forms responses

Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to automate the clearing of MS Form responses using Power Automate?

I want to be able to clear older responses from a Form that gather data to comply with GDPR - is it possible?

I would ideally like to work off the date contained within the Form itself (i.e. one of the questions). And if it is older than X, delete that response only.

Thanks!
Rebecca

Yes, removing responses should be possible via the Forms API. I have shared an approach about a year ago in this thread:

Only change which is required in that approach is to use an Invoke an HTTP request action instead of the Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action.

That is because Microsoft has locked down the usage of the Send an HTTP request to SharePoint action last year. Which means you cannot use that action with the Forms API anymore. Alternatively, you can use the Invoke an HTTP request action. Read more about this change in the Send an HTTP request to SharePoint – Forms API – Flows Failing since 18-09-2024 Power Automate community thread.

    Thanks!

Do you know if it's possible to amend this to lock it down to individual responses? I tried to add the response ID to the end of the Url:

    responses(ResponseID)

but it pulls back an error

    "code""1010",
"message""Not a valid GUID. Inner Message: Not a valid GUID.",

Yes, that should also be possible.

Just to double check. Did you also replace the tenantid, formid and userid replace holders of the URI? Those placeholders expect guid values.

Ah yes sorry! I entered my tenant ID and Form ID manually (via Compose boxes) and pulled my user from the Get user ID step.

My tenant ID is just numbers and dashes after the api/
My User ID is just the ID after the users/
My Form is the ID but like this forms('')
And then the response ID appears at the end like responses(1)

I tried without the response ID and get the same error to likely missing the proper syntax for one of the other fields if you can spot anything?

Ah! I found another reply of yours on another thread - my Form is a Group Form not a Personal one and that has done it!

Thank you so much for your help!!

I'm trying to get this solution to work in my enviroment, but I keep getting this error:

I'm on a premium licens and I have made the form myself. Do you have any suggestions?

What type of form are you using? Group or personal form?

Btw, I have also written down the steps in a blog:
