Approval action timed out on Day 8 despite 29-day timeout setting

Hi,
 

I’m encountering a WorkflowRunTimedOut error in a Start and wait for an approval action in Power Automate. The action timeout is configured for 29 days, but the flow failed on the 8th day with a timeout error. I did not configure any shorter timeout at the flow or action level.

Has anyone experienced this behavior or knows why the approval action might time out earlier than the configured duration?

    Hello,
     
    did you change/break any of the connections used by the flow? That can cause it to timeout.

    Can you show how you configured the action to 29 days? The default length for the timeout on approval actions is 30 days, so I assume you changed the duration. Maybe you entered P8D instead of P29D. Note, if there are delays in your flow before it gets to the approval, that could have caused the action to time out as well. Both flows and actions have 30-day limit.
     
    I could have sworn approvals were limited to 28 days, but I cannot find documentation on this any longer. This seems to indicate it is now 30 days like the timeout limit of the flow: Limits of automated, scheduled, and instant flows - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn

    Hi @David_MA, Thank-you for your response. I have set the timed out as P29D. I have double checked it. It's not 8 days. Will it be some temporary service interruption ?
