Help with creating a Newsletter using Forms, Lists and Power Automate

I want to be able to populate to a Newsletter in Word, receiving contributions via a Microsoft Form, the link to which I would share with the relevant contributors. How do I achieve this using Power Automate? What are the steps involved and do I need to also include a Microsoft List or eliminate that? I am looking for assistance in building the flows.

Thank you.

    Hello @PB-04020944-0

Yes, you can automate this using Power Automate. One common approach is to create a Word document with placeholders (a template) and then map your Form responses to those placeholders. This way, each submission can automatically populate the newsletter without needing to copy and paste manually.

Word Template: Must be stored in OneDrive or SharePoint and use Content Controls for populate the value dynamically.

    Automate Steps:

Trigger: When a new response is submitted (Forms)

    Action: Get response details

Action: Populate a Word template > map the form fields to the template controls

Action: Save, email, or convert to PDF if required

@Kalathiya   Does this involve creating a MS List? I don't see that as a step in your illustration above. Also, I am not seeing an option to "Populate a Microsoft Word template" in the Actions.

    Can you help?

Hello again  . Do I even need to bother with a Sharepoint List at all, though? You don't include that in your steps above.

Not really but you only need a SharePoint List if you want to store or track the data somewhere.

In the steps above, I was just explaining how to build the flow itself. If flow is only triggering an action for generate document, then you don’t necessarily need a SharePoint List.

If you can share your exact scenario, I can suggest whether you actually need it or not.

    Hi

Thank you for your help so far,

Is there an alternative to getting the Microsoft Word template rather than going the Word Online (Business) route? That seems PREMIUM.

Just another question in this regard, where is it recommended that the Word template is stored for this purpose?

    Thank you.

Just another question in this regard. Contributions are being received via a Microsoft Form and separate documents are being populated individually with each contribution rather than combined in the one. How do I amend this so that articles submitted are populated one below the other in the template?
