How to handle url which behaves differently depending on recent login activity - and attaches session# extension

Hi,

I want to automate the download of a few .xlsx files from the website which houses our data. It is Dynamics-based but maintained by a private company.

The site seems to load differently depending on recent activity.  I direct Power Automate to a URL.

Sometimes, it goes here, and I have to select the 2nd option.

Sometimes, it goes here, and is ready for me to login - bypassing the first.

When I am in, this is the landing screen.

I click the "Advanced Find" icon (looks like a filter) on the far right.

Then this open up a query window in a new instance, with a new unique session ID.

Can someone please tell me how to manage this and make it reliably recur? I've been trying and failing for a good two days straight. I can switch from Chrome if a better solution exists in Edge or...Firefox?

I am not very good at this yet (obviously) so a layman's explanation will be IMMENSELY appreciated. But I'll take what I can get! 🙂  THANK YOU.

I am not at my computer, so I can’t give you screenshots, but I have a good idea for your 2 issues.

First issue as I understand it, is the multiple possibilities of 2 different landing pages before logging in. You should be able to find and “if web element exists” option. The other option would be “wait for element” and On Error, have it time out.  So, if it doesn’t see it in say, 10 seconds, then it moves to label (assuming that the second page loaded) and skips the “click on web element” to click on that second option of your first screenshot.

issue number 2 is your session ID. If you need that session ID for specific functions, you should be able to get it through “Get web element” making it a variable, and then you can use that variable in other element functions.

    Best of luck!

Just detailing what previous fellows already indicated, you flow will be something like this:

    1. Launch new browser with your URL

    2. If web page contains: Contains text = “Sing in with one of these accounts”

    3. Click link on webpage: click on ID option

    4. Else

    5. Populate text field on web page: capture login field and fill-in

    6. Populate text field on web page: capture password field and fill-in w/ sensitive text

    7. Press button on web page: capture Sign in button (or maybe Send Keys = Enter)

    8. End (of if)

    9. Click on the filter icon (this opens a new window)

I couldn’t understand the problem once in the query window...
