Custom Security attributes with Azure AD connector

Hi, in our Azure AD we want to create new fields to store additional information about each user. We are now trying to use Custom Security attributes and I am wondering if it is possible to use the Azure AD connector "Update User" to update these Custom Security attributes or if I have to go via MS Graph?
