How to select DateTime Picker in Power Automate Desktop using Excel text date (EXPDATE column)?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working with Power Automate Desktop and facing an issue when trying to interact with a DateTime Picker on a web application.

Here is my scenario:

  • I have an Excel file that contains a column named EXPDATE

  • The data type of this column is Text ( format ---> dd/MM/yyyy)

  • I want to use this value to select a date in a DateTime Picker UI element on a web page using Power Automate Desktop
This is UI  on a web application --->
This is excel column ----------------->

I tried to copy and paste the text into the text box, but I couldn't paste the text, while the manual method worked.
Are there any recommended actions or techniques to handle this scenario reliably?

Hi, hope you are doing well.

Here are two suggestions that I can think of right now which could help your scenario.
Option 1: Use “Populate text field on web page”
    • Instead of Send Keys / paste
    • Target the input field directly
    • Set value = your Excel variable

    Option 2: Simulate real typing
Some controls only accept real keyboard input:
    • Click the field
    • Use Send Keys
    • Add a small delay between keystrokes

Don’t use paste as it could be unreliable at times. Use Populate text field or Send Keys with delay. Let me know if it still doesn't work.
