Hi everyone,

I have in Sharepoint approval flow which fails on the step when I try to approve the Sharepoint page I get an Access Denied error.

When using this HTTP action i get this error.

Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))
clientRequestId: ea6be01e-5e56-4bc2-b90b-74ae496fb77c
serviceRequestId: 64f8eca1-c060-0000-9f8f-dc1ffa818596

I have also tried the default action but this results in the same error.
Does anyone have experience with this?

Kind regards,
Joren Christiaens

    Can you share the rest of your action setup? Which method are you using in the HTTP action? And what is the full body json (does it contain the bNewDocumentUpdate property as well?

    Below is an example based on a StackOverflow thread where I shared this solution as well, if that helps?

    1. Flow setup

    {
        "formValues":[
        {
            "FieldName": "_ModerationStatus",
                "FieldValue": "0"
        }
        ],
        "bNewDocumentUpdate": false
    }

    2. Succesfull flow run

    Happy to help out 😁

    Hi,

    Use "Start and wait for an approval" action instead of HTTP. Give flow connection user Approve Items permission on Site Pages library.

    If still fails, check Item Link has correct page URL + encoded ETag get from "Get item" action first. Common fix: add 2-second delay before approval step, then use "Update item" with Approval Status = "Approved". Test with flow owner's account first.

    If I have answered your question, please mark it as the preferred solution ✅ . If you like my response, please give it a Thumbs Up 👍.
    Regards,
    Riyaz
