How do i update sharepoint item along with permissions

I got the following thread resolved ( hence creating a new thread) with help of @efialttes  and @yashag2255  but as soon as I started working on the actual data struggling to make it work with actual 1000 rows of data

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Flows/Flow-to-update-share-point-list-owner-column-with-multiple-users/m-p/523720#M67097

I tried using the step ' create item' in sharepoint but it failed and after searching i understand flow works smoothly with 'text' fields only and in my data I do have 'currency' as well as 'date' data. After spending a lot of time in resolving I gave that option up.

I updated the items manually on sharepoint with the hope of using 'update item' sharepoint action to 'assign permissions' to the the already uploaded items but again struggling to do the same.

Could any one help in resolving and let me know what am i missing?

Ideally i would prefer to get the information of permissions from excel and use that information to update 'Owner' column of sharepoint.

    Hi @Mishatandon ,

If you have saved the id of the column in the Column1 of the excel table, you could choose the Column1 dynamic content in the Id field of the Grant access action.

    Best Regards,

Re: How do i update sharepoint item along with permissions

I went to the original solution of using 'create item' action of sharepoint.

So I am able to add items on the sharepoint list and update permissions BUT only if i remove columns which have data type 'Currency' and 'Date time'

How can i override this to load currency and date column?

Re: How do i update sharepoint item along with permissions

I have attached a screenshot in my previous reply. Since I was testing i see the items I have uploaded their id is 82, 83, 84 etc

I have a corresponding column - Column1 in the excel for the id mapping, bit this 'column1' . am i doing that correctly or something i need to modify?

    Hi @Mishatandon ,

If you want to update the access person for an item or a folder, you need to know the id of the item or the folder.

Have you saved the id of the item in the corresponding row of the excel table?

    Best Regards,

    Alice

Re: How do i update sharepoint item along with permissions

    Hi,

I am not using 'create item' action because its not working fine for my 14 columns which has data types like currency , number etc and I am not able to get dynamic content for the same in the create action.

So I have manually updated that on Sharepoint hoping that 'update item' action could compensate and I can still update the permissions. With this one problem is I am not getting option of 'ID'

    @efialttes

Added the screenshot of the column I have used from excel and the dynamic content - which is current status.

I am not getting option of 'id'

    Hi @Mishatandon ,

Do you want to grant access to the person in the column3 in the excel table for new created item? if, yes, you could refer to screenshot below to create the flow: :

Re: How do i update sharepoint item along with permissions

    Hi!

Can you hover your mouse over the current dynamic content you assigned to ID input of 'Grant access to an item..." and share the value displayed?

Just guessing... if you are using the content of an Excel column where you previously stored the Sharepoint list item ID, please make sure if is an integer. You can force it by means of an int() based expression.

Once you share the info requested above we can suggest the expression to be used

    Hope this helps
