
Yesterday I found that Power Automate Desktop suddenly would not recognize any browser instances. the browser communication does not work for chrome or edge, neither does it work on my other laptop. I get the "failed to assume control of (edge, chrome, etc.) (communication with browser failed. Try reloading extension)."
I've scoured the web and Microsoft help pages for answers, and while there are many half "solutions" out there, none have made any difference. I've updated PAD to the latest version, I've reinstalled the browser extensions, I've changed browser settings, I've done almost everything possible except reverting to an older version of PAD or Windows.
I've seen multiple posts detailing this problem, many recent on just this forum alone, but it seems that no concrete fix has been provided. I don't see any official Microsoft documentation about this problem, nor have I found any official answers from certified Microsoft staff/devs.
I'm at my wits end, I've always encountered this problem briefly, but it seemed to resolve itself immediately, now it seems to be completely irreversible. Please help.
This solved the issue for me with latest win11 update , PAD 2.27 and latest extension.
Remove windows store version of PAD, then install with MSI installer afterwards. Link with info below.
