Send From Shared Email and Reply to Same Email Chain Later in Same Flow

Hi all!  I have created a flow triggered by a user's response to an MS Forms survey.  Once triggered, an email is sent from a shared mailbox to the user, then an approval notification is sent to me.  Once I click approve I intend for the flow to send a reply email to the email sent earlier in the flow so that they will both 'show as conversation' in Outlook.

Below I am using the 'get emails (v3)' action to find the email I sent from the shared mailbox earlier in the flow so that I can use its Internet Message ID to link my 'reply to email' action and then using a second 'send an email from shared' action to send my reply email.

The flow runs successfully but does not actually send the reply email.  I suspect this is because the outputs of the 'get emails' action show that no emails were found, thus no email to reply to.  Can you help me to figure out how to make this flow work or if there is some other route to be able to send an email and then reply to that same email within the same flow?

For reference, I have tried adding the 'when new email arrives to shared mailbox' action instead of the 'get emails' action but it just times out and never finds any emails.  Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance!

    Hi @kbbarnes

If you are searching emails in Shared mailbox then you need to provide the email address of shared email address in 'Original Mailbox Address' parameter of "Get emails" action as shown below:

Pls provide the shared mailbox address and retest the flow.

Thanks so much for your help!  When I provide a shared mailbox address in the 'original mailbox address' in the 'get emails' action and then run the flow, I get the following error message:

"As of May 6, 2020, shared mailbox support was added for certain operations with an optional 'Mailbox address' parameter, allowing you to specify a shared mailbox address for your operation to access. If you were using this operation prior to May 6, 2020, you will need to explicitly update your operations to specify the shared mailbox address. Please follow the Office 365 documentation for more information: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/office365/#shared-mailbox-support"

    Any other ideas?

Thanks for the reply!  What do you mean by "Pls readd the "Get emails" action with the same configuration"?

I mean to delete the "Get emails" action. Add it again & set the input parameters as you have configured originally 🙂

    Thanks
