"Outlook Email Automation Challenge: Moving Completed Flagged Emails with Power Automate"

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to automate a workflow between Microsoft ToDo and Outlook using Power Automate. Here’s what I’m aiming for:

Goal:

  1. When I mark a task as Complete in ToDo, the task is automatically marked complete and unflagged in Outlook (this happens through the existing integration).
  2. After that, I want Power Automate to:
    1. Move the unflagged email from a specific folder ("List of tasks") to another folder ("Archive").

Current Flow:

  • I created a flow that triggers when an email is flagged in Outlook.
  • The flow includes a condition that checks the flag status to detect if the task has been marked as "Complete" in ToDo (and unflagged in Outlook).
  • If the condition is true, the flow moves the email from the "List of tasks" folder to the "Archive" folder.

Problem:

  • I have a flow that checks the flag status in Outlook to detect when the task is completed, but after marking it complete, the email isn’t being moved as expected.
  • I’m unsure if I’m using the correct flag status or if there’s something missing to properly trigger the movement of the email.

Questions:

  1. What is the correct flag status to detect when a task is completed in ToDo so that the email can be moved in Outlook?
  2. Is there a better approach to achieve this workflow?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I would like to see your flow. I am trying to use the Create a Planner Task for Flagged Email template that is dependent on the flagged email being not Complete.
The structure that I could get to almost work is looking at To-Do Tasks
