Hey,

for further cases I want to learn the proper version of Python for Power Automate Desktop? In some blogs I found Python 2, 3 or  ironPython? According to the Scripting actions reference - Power Automate | Microsoft Learn it is Python 2.

Which version is the right one? Any help on this??
Python 2.0 | Python.org

That is some very old documentation it seems.  Nowadays Python2 is deprecated and you should use at least 3.7, better 3.11 or 3.12

@lbendlin thanks for your quick reply. So, actually I can just use the current version? It’s hard to find a source with the right docs 😕

No, you cannot. @lbendlin seems to have missed your question. You cannot use Python 3 in the Run Python script action in PAD. It only supports Python 2 (Python 2.7 should also work). See the appropriate documentation here:https://docs.python.org/2/

@Agnius this topic is indeed complex. The version you mentioned aligns more closely with my research. Thanks for your thoughts.

Are there any limits about this way?

Technically there shouldn't be any. It's essentially a workaround, where you have Python 3 installed on your machine and simply run a script file.

I guess any limitations might be related to actually running .py files. Most corporate IT policies will not allow that. But if it's your personal machine, you should be good to go.
