Start and wait for an approval having a drop down list from SQL Server

Hello to all,

I need to create an approval process (Start and wait for an approval) in which the user that starts the process will have to select a value from a drop down list.

The drop down list will contain data from a SQL database.

Is there any tutorial or example about it?

Kind regards.

On your example "Sample1" is filled by the Approver.

I need it to be filled from the Requestor:

    Hey @ksirganis

Unfortunately I do not have access to SQL Azure so cannot setup a demo for you 😥, but the concept would be the same as I mentioned in my initial update.

As this is your first project, you should have look some Youtube videos https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Approval+Power+Automate

If you create a Flow and get stuck, we(Power Automate community) can provide inputs.

    Thank you for your reply!

That's not exactly my case. Let me explain a little bit better:

The user that starts the approval process must:

    1. Type some comments for his/her request
    2. Select a value from a drop down list. This list will contain a column of data of a SQL table. (actually this is the step that I am facing difficulties on how to create and display the drop down list)

    The approver will reciece:

    1. The user's comments
    2. The value of the drop down list the the user has selected.

And he/she will approve or reject the request.

Since this is my first project I would love to have an example or at least what type of steps I will need to fullfill this need.

    @ksirganis

    Hey Mate,

You can create an approval with Custom Responses - Wait for all response or Wait for one response.

In the Response option, you can pass the dynamic variable returned by SQL(I have passed dynamic content from Trigger just for example).

You can find an example at https://jobs.collab365.community/how-to-create-an-approval-workflow-with-custom-responses/
