Avoid version 2.14 if you have functional flows

I made the mistake of updating to version 2.14, working on a flow and then saving it.  It's broken multiple things ('If' statements, 'wait' for webpage content to load, 'click link on webpage' amongst other things).  Additionally, once saved, you can no longer use the flow in previous versions, nor can you copy paste between versions (see screenshot below).

Do not update to version 2.14 unless you'd like to rebuild significant portions of already working flows and lose a whole lot of productivity.

I have the same question (0)

I fully agree, we had to change quite a bit of code to get up and running again........

This is why automatic updates are turned off.  I had the same issue with RoboCorp which is why I came to PAD.  Robocorp forced a lab update that killed every single one of my bots that I had built over the previous 6 months.  I said, "that defeats the purpose".  So, I have never updated PAD, and I love it.  I am still on version 2.8, and I wouldn't give it up for anything.  For future updates, make sure you have a backup .exe file of the old install.  Make sure all your flows are backed up before updating.  You never can know what happens with this stuff.  I want to go to unattended, but the attended bots work so well, and all I see on here are people complaining of "it works in attended, but not unattended" "update killed my bot" and so forth.  So, call me basic, but sticking with what I got, because it works.  If I was to "update", I would probably do it on another computer, and copy all my bots to the other computer.

I'd have to say that while you might be a bit more extreme than we are in our environment, we've had great success with both updates and unattended flows until this point.  We made the fatal mistake of assuming that past success guaranteed future performance.  Thankfully, we noticed it and only lost three flows -- still a ridiculous loss of productivity, but it could have been worse.

I wanted to post here to see if others were having the issue and to let others know to take a hard pass on 2.14 and to backup their flows before saving under a new version.

    From Microsofts support site

Funny thing is the text at the end..
A new version that resolves this issue was released on 17th of November 2021.

    -----------------------

"Failed to deserialize Flow" error in Power Automate for desktop Symptom

In Power Automate for desktop version 2.14, users cannot edit or run desktop flows with error message “Failed to deserialize Flow”.

    Cause

The desktop flow contains disabled actions that have been copy/pasted.

    Affected actions are:

    • If Image

    • If window

    • If window contains

    • If webpage contains

    • Wait for image

    • Wait for window

    • Wait for window content

    • Wait for webpage content

There is a bug when deserializing the pasted script, and a DISABLE statement gets inserted which causes the flow to fail to deserialize.

    Resolution

Update Power Automate for desktop to version 2.14.217.21314 or later. A new version that resolves this issue was released on 17th of November 2021.

It's the future!  How about that.  I'll test it on another machine and see how it does.

Or I would test it if that version was available for download -- their site still has the previous 2.14.173.21294 version.  Do you know if there's anywhere I can snag that new version before tomorrow?
