Hi ,I am new to PAD.  I used Extract text from PDF action, to extract the text from the pdf file and  I am trying to split the text using PAD. But somehow it is not working exactly. I am not sure which part i am missing.

Example:

In the variable i have these following data. I just want to grab only the first line. But first line data will change depends on the pdf  file, It has to grab whatever data available in the First line. Please guide me. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure what the variable is at that point.  If it is just a multiline text string, you could use the Split text action, Delimiter type of Standard and Standard Delimiter of New line.  The output variable would be an list, say lstPDFOuput.  To then get the first line you can just reference the first line that should be zero: lstPFDOutput[0].

Another useful action could be the Parse text action, which can take a regex to more specifically target the part you want to extract.

Use Split text and use Newline as the delimiter. This will result in a list, possibly stored in %TextList%. You can then access the first item in the list (which should be the first line from the text) as %TextList[0]%.
