Hello. just reaching out for conversation. I work with a state agency. Do other states or federal agencies spend most of their dev time in Model Apps increasingly moving towards Power Pages for the public facing side? With the new licensing options, I think this will be a trend.
Is Power Pages available for GCC yet?
Yes it is. I'm rolling one out next week.
I have noticed many of the government agencies I have worked with are focused on utilizing canvas app and shy away from many features of anything public facing. I do agree that Power Pages could be the next step to driving this change.
Change is hard for any organization. It's even harder in government. In this implementation we are using the model app for internal users maintaining the records and documents. The web portal users are only viewing data. Eventually we can add more functionality. But getting it out there is our first step.
Canvas app? That's interesting. Model apps offer so much more out of the box.
Hi @Anonymous, @AmyCradic23, @JayHangan,
Federal agency here using canvas apps. Canvas apps seemed to be more flexible to prototype our specific use cases. This same desire for flexibility is also evident in preferring the use of galleries over data tables.
Looking forward to using Power Pages but still prototyping our first Power App system (3 integrated canvas apps with SharePoint lists as the datasources). Goal would be to migrate from SharePoint to Dataverse. Agency hasn't yet adopted Power Apps for widespread usage.
Best Wishes,Matren
Matern,Now that I think about with Power Apps, we can freely mix canvas (custom pages) and model driven in the same app. Converge model-driven and canvas apps using the custom page - Power Apps | Microsoft LearnSince the Portal app runs in its own app using different forms, I bet you could mix canvas, model and have the portal show its own forms to anonyms users on the internet.
Have a great day!
I’m currently developing a portal (Power Pages) to allow Fed (National Guard) users to access our state data without having to give a license.
I think the SLA has 50,000 visits a month before a fee structure kicks in. Not sure about that number but it's a lot.
