Adding Custom Connector to a Copilot Studio Agent

I have an agent that I created in a developer environment. I added a custom connector that connects to the M365 Graph via an app registration. The connector works. However, I cannot add it to the agent no matter what I try. I have exported to a managed solution, and imported into a Sandbox and have the same issue. I created a connection via the connector which was successful. Testing the connector in Power Apps under the sandbox environment it returns data. I tried sharing the connection I created with the agent giving it "use" rights. That still didn't work.

I went back into Copilot Studio and selected Tools and found the connector, clicked the ellipse, and add to agent. This doesn't work either.

I'm stuck. I don't know why Microsoft makes this so difficult. The connector should just display under tools and it doesn't. Clicked add custom connector just redirects me back to Power Apps.

Why does my agent have a status of "unpublished" under tools in copilot studio?

I figured this out. It was the visibility setting under the definition. I had it set to internal not knowing how this works. I set to none and can now see the definitions that I created with the custom connector in my agent under tools.

I hope this helps someone else. This setting also controls if the operations and parameters (definitions) of the custom connector are visible to the agent.

"Leave the Visibility property set to none. This property for operations and parameters in a logic app or flow has the following options:"

    • none: Displayed normally in the logic app or flow
    • advanced: Hidden under another menu
    • internal: Hidden from the user
    • important: Always shown to the user first
