Hello
I am trying to automate Microsoft form but the submit button doesn't work
any idea any one or some link to how to where it works

Hi @dalacarelia_196,

What browser are you using? I tried Chrome and whist I can capture the UI Element for the Button, I then cannot select it. I tried again with Edge and it captures and then clicks on the button without any problems.

Hello

I have used Edge and Chrome and capture the button is OK, but the flow stops in the button.

Hi @dalacarelia_196

I have seen others mention that they have re-installed the browser plugin for PAD and to make sure you have the latest version of PAD installed which you can get from here https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/desktop

Sounds like something is not right with your install.

Hi @dalacarelia_196 ,

It looks like, Ui element is not being picked properly.
For more more accuracy try using the web recorder. Open web recorder and click on the button.

Note: Click on the button for the web recorder to capture the element properly

@dalacarelia_196, have you tried running Javascript on that page? I don't use MS Forms really, but I tried to create one very similar to yours. I ran the following JS on the page to click it:

document.querySelector("button.__submit-button__.office-form-bottom-button.office-form-theme-button.button-control.light-background-button:nth-child(1) > div").click();
Works fine for me.

Hi @dalacarelia_196

Sorry I didn't spot your video reply before. I've been learning this one too and can now see why the button isn't being pressed on the form. From reading other posts and playing around with the tool, I cannot get the button to press if I am using the Web UI Element but if I capture the button as a Form UI Element it works all of the time.

Hopefully this makes sense if I share the following:
The disabled step fails (which is a Web UI) but the Window UI works. In order for me to grab this button I used a new trick that I picked up - when you are hovering over an element you want to capture, hold the ctrl button and scroll on your mouse, this would navigate through the various elements in that area. I eventually found the Window UI Element called "Button 'Submit'".

Here are the UI Elements that I tried - I even tried to simplify the web elements using the editor but just couldn't get it to work.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

P.S. another little discovery, web elements seem to be encapsulated in <> whereas Window don't. Hold Ctrl + Scroll that mouse wheel and you will find Button and not <button>.

Hello
I have trying with both way with the button its eaven one more filed shows up.
We have sharepoint sites with submitbuttons it works fine there, so i am confused.

Can you explain that in a bit more detail please? Did you manage to capture the Windows UI Element Button ? Have you tried "Press Button in Window" rather than "Press Button on WebPage?".

If you were struggling to find the Button element, it takes time and patience. Hover your mouse over the button, hold ctrl and slowly scroll downwards (or upwards to go higher up through the elements.
