I am trying to learn PowerApps and be constructive at the same time and figure best way is to take templated app and modify it to suit my needs. The Service Desk app is close to what I need but before modifying the layout I would like to change the data source. At present it's linked to a spreadsheet on DropBox but I would like to change it to SQL Server Tables on Azure. I know how to create the tables with the same field names as the spreadsheet but but how do I then change the App to look at the new record source?
Hi PaNewby,
I'm afaid that his sample app's data source cannot be changed to SQL Server Tables on Azure. As I cannot see the Azure SQL connection in the available connection lists of this template:
I suggest that you can try to create a similar app from scrach by your own and add SQL Server Tables on Azure as the data source. All the formulas inside can be changed to the new data source.

Mona
Thanks. I thought that may be the case.
Because everything I am finding points me to think that MS may soon make me pay yet more for an SQL Azure Link, I am not going to pursue building a PA until I know more. Thanks again
About the billing information about powerapps, please refer here:

Glad to help.
Thanks for that. I will just confirm what plan we're on but I think it basically says that if I can use a link to SQL Azure now I should be able to continue using it.
