Sharing Copilot AI HR Agent with the Employees

Hello, I’m part of the HR team and have created an AI agent using our SharePoint URL as the source ; both in M365 Copilot and through Copilot Studio. All our employees currently have Copilot access.

Our IT team mentioned that to share this HR agent with employees, they would also need to have the same ā€˜Agent Access’ level as I do. However, this would allow them to create and share their own agents, which we don’t intend. We only want employees to be able to use the HR agent we’ve built for them, not create or publish new ones.

Could you please confirm if this is indeed a requirement, or if there’s a way to share the agent with users without granting them agent creation or sharing permissions?

So... its a little confusion I believe.

You can easily block Authoring, you cannot block the License.
    So let's break this down.

They need access to the agent(viewer role) they do not need Editor Role
They need access to use the connectors and Approve the connector to do work on their behalf, thats a no brainier but is NOT what IT is talking about I do not think.

Lastly, you can use security groups and create policies both in Teams, M365 and at the Tenant level to block what your IT people are saying

And this is all separate from if you are using Managed Environments which give even another level.

    No, they are incorrect.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

@Michael E. Gernaey Thanks for the response. Just to confirm ;  employees won’t be able to create their own agents, but they will still have access to use the shared agent in viewer-only mode, correct?

Also, could you please clarify which options and menu IT should use to set up policies by user group?
