Change Status in SharePoint List to Complete sends email to respondents

 hello,

I created a flow that collects the responses from MS Forms and places them in a SharePoint List. This flow is working great but I would like to add  or create another flow  that is triggered by a change in an item , the change is the  Status column changing to "Complete" then enter a date and time in the Completed Date column then send the respondent an email letting them know that their ticket is "complete" . (I understand that a flow cannot have two triggers) The flow to change or modifies an item has no errors but does not run when a change is made in the list.  Help is need to guide me through this flow.

This my original flow (no issues)

This is the flow created to modify and item from the previously created flow.

    Hi @Stephmeta ,

The first part of your trigger filter (Status = 'Completed') seems to be correct. The image does not shows the rest of the expression, so it is possible that there is error in this missing part.

To confirm if the error is really in this missing part, you could test your flow with the Status filter only on the trigger. If it runs properly, then we will be sure that the error is in the rest of the expression.

    Rzaneit

The message I am getting when I run the flow is Flow run timed out because the starting action was not performed

    Hi @Stephmeta ,

You are receiving this message even after filter your trigger only by Status = 'Completed'? If yes, a temporary solution could be to remove all filters and apply them as a Condition in any intermediary action of the flow. By analyzing the outputs from the trigger, you will be able to identify any errors in the original filters and fix them.

    Hello,

I removed the conditional trigger and the flow runs now but the now it skip the last part of the flow which I think is essential to update the completed date column in my list.

    Hi @Stephmeta ,

From which action are you pulling the 'Status value' dynamic content: the trigger or the 'Get Item'? Could you share the raw output of this action?

    Hi @Stephmeta ,

Thank you for the image. Could you please share the raw outputs from the action that is generating the 'Status value' that you are using as dynamic content in the condition?

If you don't know how to access your raw outputs, follow the steps below:

In the 'flow run' view, go to the action that is generating the dynamic content and click in "Show raw outputs" in the OUTPUT section. In some cases, this button appears as 'Click to download':

    rzaneti_0-1689810436679.png

It will show a sidebar on the right side of your screen containing this JSON notation (if you had the 'click to download' option, it will open the outputs in a new tab):

Find the "body" property. It is always after the "headers" property. Make sure to remove any sensitive content from the image before sharing. You also can find more details about how to access the outputs in Power Automate in this blog post that I wrote recently: http://digitalmill.net/2023/06/29/how-to-access-the-raw-outputs-in-power-automate/

As you requested I downloaded the raw output.

    Hi @Stephmeta ,

Try to change the "Status" from your 'Condition' action for the following expression: triggerOutputs()['body']?['Status']?['Value'].

Make sure to test with a record with Status = 'Completed'. Let me know if it works!
