Is it possible to check if a user has an E5 license in Power Automate?

Hello all! Is it possible to check if a user has an E5 license in Power Automate? We have a flow that assigns licenses and don't want to assign a premium license on top of what they already have (if they don't realize the E5 already covers their needs).

    Yes, you can do it with Microsoft Graph.  Here is the supporting documentation and a video too.

    Thank you for the response! I looked into the video and think the steps would go something along the lines of this:

     

    1. Create a new flow in Power Automate.
    2. Add a trigger that will initiate the flow.
    3. Add an action to make a HTTP request to the Microsoft Graph API (as mentioned in the video).
    4. In the HTTP request action, I'd assume we fill out the fields with the following details:
      • Method: GET
      • URI: https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/users/{user-id}/licenseDetails ... replacing {user-id} with the ID of the user whose assigned licenses we want to retrieve.
      •  But since I'm not too familiar with using this action, I tried asking CoPilot for help with the 'headers', but what would the formatting look like? All CoPilot told me was to "include the necessary authorization headers to authenticate the request."
    5. In the documentation you sent, there's the API response typed up in JSON. I'm assuming we need a response action to process it, would that just be a 'Parse JSON' action? If not, what would be the best one to use for this scenario?
