How to use Power Automate without service account?

We would like to build 6 Power Automates for every tender SharePoint site. These power automates are business critical. The trigger is created/modified document.

How to deal with our Security Officer forbidden service accounts? Is it possible to use an Azure app registration? What are the cons when I run the Power Automates under my personal account?

Every Power Automate trigger and action has a connection that is associated with a licensed user.  No way around this.

The primary issue in running the Flows with your account is that should you leave your organization your account will be/should be disabled.  That will cause all of your Flows to fail.

In that scenario, a Power Platform admin can reassign the Flows to another user who can change the connections to use their account.

Other issues with using you account include the fact that all actions will be performed using your credentials.  So, for example, emails will be sent by you.  If an something is posted to Teams, it will be posted by you.

You'll also need to update your connections should your password change.

In addition, you can add co-owners to a Flow at any time.  In that case, a co-owner can change the connection info without waiting for an admin.  Even then, you'll still want an admin to assign someone else as the primary owner.

Thank you! Why is Microsoft not talking in their documentation about it is better to use service accounts?

The topic of service accounts is still a matter of debate in the community.  My opinion is that they are the way to go - there are some who disagree.....

The down side of the service account (other than security) is that it burns a license.

I used to be able to perform actions as other accounts by changing the connector. Was this changed recently? if so, is it still possible to perform actions from 2 accounts within a flow? or is service accounts the only way?
