Get Item Causing Duplicates x^2

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a flow that takes items for a main sharepoint list and creates it in a subset sharepoint list (same columns) and i want to send these records in an approval process once.
However I'm having many errors
1- I have 7 records in the main sp list that I want to filter out but my the subset is getting 49 records duplicates of the 7

2- I'm getting the approval process 7 times when it's outside of the apply to each loop.

I would appreciate some help pleaseeeee!!!!

Hi @HindAlmarzooqiP

Please share your Filter on the GetItems so we can get you just the 7.

Also, since this triggers every time someone creates an item, we need to make sure you are only pulling the ones you want.

Also, let's verify what you are using the Incrementer for. You shouldn't use variables into an Apply to each(ForAll), without care, because it will give you bad results as its not thread safe, and multiple threads can be impacting it at the same time.

Now, you say it triggers 7 Approvals, but that's not possible that a single instance of a flow would do that, so are you saying that there are 7 Flows running for every change?

Please share the Run where inside a single flow run you see 7 approvals.

HI Mike,
Thank you so much for your interest in my problem.

I have attached a screenshot for the get item filter.
As well as please find another screenshot for the incrementer. it's just to count the number of records as i'm outputing it in the message of the approval step.

Yes, for some reason it is triggering 7 approvals. as you can see in the screenshot.

as well as a screenshot of the amount of records it pushed in the subset list. which is (49) 7^2

Silly Question, are you doing a Create Item in the Loop on the same table as the Trigger is Triggering on?

Just wondering if you are self triggering them.

What would be interesting and helpful

Right after the Trigger

Put a Compose

For the value, set the Dynamic ID Property of the Trigger (so it tells us the Item Id (aka row id)

Then we can see if its the same item 7 times, or if you are self triggering.

Me again... Why are you looping through anything?

Don't you want to write ONLY the record that is part of this Trigger to the new table????

Not sure what you are getting Items on, and how does the Trigger help you decide which ones to get?

If its the Trigger Item, then the trigger already has the properties and doesn't need get items

Hi Mike, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help!

the trigger is for whenever a new item is created for in the main share point list, which I need those records to be shown in the subset sharepoint list. I could get rid of the get items but I don't think it will make that much of a difference as it's basically double efforts to filter

Hi @FLMike , okay so I kinda made it work by changing my trigger from when an item is created to a power app trigger lol. I have more issues to solve but at least this problem is kinda gone (hopefully)

Thanks for the details. I wasn't however asking why you had it because I didn't understand what it does, I was trying to understand simply, how did a Trigger turn into getting multiple items, when it sounded like you only needed the 1 (new one) written to the other side.

Now, unless you tied this to a Canvas App, changing the trigger won't give you what you need. This is why its so important to explain the whole solution, not just ask for a single thing. Takes up alot of time and for us people doing it for free, no benefit.

So I am more confused now than I was but glad you are happy.
