This Power Automate template "Create a Teams chat from an email when it has 'createachat'" didn't work for me, did it work for anyone?  I'm not sure if I missed anything.  I used the default template with default settings and did not change a single thing, but it would not actually start a Teams Chat.

In my test, it say it "Succeeded", but did not start a chat.

If I drill down, I see this error...

ActionBranchingConditionNotSatisfied. The execution of template action 'Append_to_string_variable' skipped: the branching condition for this action is not satisfied.

Have anyone successfully run this "Create a Teams chat from an email when it has 'createachat'" Power Automate template?  If so, please let me know what was done to get it to work.  Thank you in advance.

    Hello @hdgeeks ,

Can you share a screenshot of the Condition in Edit Mode?

What I understand from the template is that, this Flow will start a Teams chat only if your email contains the word "createachat", do you think this is what you are missing here?

Please hit Kudo or Mark this Reply as a Solution if it solved your problem. Thanks!

    Hello @hdgeeks ,

I am not sure as to why are you comparing Id with Id in your condition

    NiloferA_0-1638379991714.png

Can you remove this condition and simply append the Ids and try if your flow works?

    Hi,

The template came with the condition 2 with ID = ID.  Anyway, I took your suggestion and remove the condition 2, but I still got the same exact error.

Hi @NiloferA , are you able to get this template to work in your environment?

Hi @NiloferA , here's a link to the template if you want to check it out. https://us.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/galleries/public/templates/0412e9be847848e88706b8e129d93791/create-a-teams-chat-from-an-email-when-it-has-createachat/

Do you have any other suggestion for me?  Again, I really appreciate you taking the time on this.  It's so odd that no one had brought this problem up.  I just used the template without making any changes just to see how it work, but it doesn't work as-is.

    Hello @hdgeeks ,

I got this template working. So what this template does is, when an email arrives (in any folder you select in the trigger) it collects all the recipients in the To section of the email, checks if the Id of any one of these recipients is equal to the Id with whose credentials the Flow is running. If not, then it collects those users and creates a Teams Chat with them. That is all.

So what you can do is, use the template as is and while sending the email, add multiple recipients, also to actually send a Teams message to the recipients, you can add an additional step after "Create a chat" --> "Post message in a chat or channel" and configure it as follows

Because the chat is created silently, so you may not know if a new chat was actually created or not.

Try this out and let me know how it goes

Hi @NiloferA, I've implemented what you suggested but it doesn't seems to work as expected.  I was expecting a Teams chat message would be sent to the recipient(s).  Do you think maybe I need "Power Automate" licenses to get this to work, could that be the reason? e.g. Power Automate per flow plan

    Thanks.

    Hi greetings from Germany,
from my company I got the "Power Automate" plan.
I had the same goal, like these other post members here, try out "Create a Teams chat from an email.
I selected the template in Power Automate and thought everything is prepared?!
After "condition 2" I am getting the error message "ActionBranchingConditionNotSatisfied. The execution of template action 'Append_to_string_variable' skipped: the branching condition for this action is not satisfied."

Can anyone from here or Microsoft help me? Otherwise I don't see the benefit in the expensive Microsoft Power Automate plan and will ask my it departmend to cancel this subscription again.

    Thanks in advance.
    Luc
