Canvas apps - Windows Tablet issue

In Power Apps, I am using the Attachments control to add files to a record.

On iPad (iOS), when the user taps the attachment control, the system automatically opens the device camera, allowing the user to take a photo immediately and attach it.

On a Windows tablet, the same attachment control does not open the camera, even though the device has a built-in camera. Instead, it opens the Windows File Explorer, which only allows selecting an existing file from the device.

This results in inconsistent behavior across platforms — a feature that works smoothly on iPad is limited on Windows and negatively impacts the user experience.

Do you have any ideas how to handle this ?

The issue is the OS, not Power Apps. iOS (and Android) offers the camera as a source for an added file, Windows does not. You could use a Camera control, but this will have compromises in resolution.

    Hi @adm2kowalik,
Adding to @WarrenBelz response, you can use
    Host.OSType

function to show which control to use.
for Mobile devices (ios and android): use Attachment Control (recommended is Camera Control or Add Picture Control)
for Windows : Use (Camera Control or Add Picture Control).

by using this conditional logic , the app will supports all types of os.
