This doesn't sound like expected behavior. If the portal confirms "Edit saved" but reverts to the previous configuration when you reopen it, it could indicate either a portal caching issue or that the backend isn't persisting the updated crawl scope.

A few things I'd check:

Verify that there isn't an active or pending crawl when making the configuration change.
Try updating the connector using an InPrivate/Incognito browser session or a different browser to rule out cached portal data.
Confirm that the Google account used by the connector has access to the specific folder and that you're using the correct Folder ID.
After saving, wait a few minutes and refresh the page before reopening the configuration.

If the settings consistently revert to "Crawl only shared drive", I'd lean toward this being a product issue rather than a configuration issue. In that case, I'd recommend collecting screenshots of the saved configuration along with the connector ID and opening a Microsoft support ticket.
