Hi,

I am testing to push a sample app to an environment in my office (Sandbox). I have enabled the Code Apps feature on this environment. I am having errors when running this command below.

pac code init --displayname "App From Scratch"

Tried the same steps from the documentation on my personal machine and i don't have any issues. Any other areas i should look at? Here is the error i got below,

2026-04-14 19:23:54.4248 | INF | bolt.cli.EnvironmentResolver :: GetImplicitEnvironmentOrDefault: Using the auth profile's active organization.
2026-04-14 19:23:54.5628 | FTL | bolt.Session :: Could not find the PowerApps CLI script|EXCEPTION: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find the PowerApps CLI script
   at bolt.module.code.NodeCliManager.GetPowerAppsCliScript()

Already tried to reinstall the Power Platform Tools as well but no luck.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi @powerdevkris, hope you are doing well.

    Did you authenticate with PAC before running the init command? From what I am seeing in your error messages, it could be an authentication issue.

    To authenticate with PAC, you have to do these steps:
    1. Run pac auth create -n <give-a-profile-name> -env <target-environment-id>
    2. Authenticate on the browser
    3. Usually this also selects the profile you just created, but you can double check by running
      • pac auth list to check the profiles and the environments they point to
      • pac auth select -n <profile-name> to select a specific profile

    Running the init command after authenticating should push your code app to the selected environment. Let me know if you face any other issue.

    Could not find the PowerApps CLI script at bolt.module.code.NodeCliManager.GetPowerAppsCliScript(). This is a known regression in PAC CLI version 2.5.1+, specifically affecting pac code init.

    Microsoft has officially acknowledged and reproduced this bug: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerAppsCodeApps/issues/302

    Based on that they suggestion is a regression in PAC CLI 2.5.1 where the bundled Node.js script files aren’t being found by NodeCliManager.GetPowerAppsCliScript().

    Option 1 (Recommended) – Roll back PAC CLI to a working version
    pac use 2.4.1
    pac code init --displayName "App From Scratch" (then try with the same command)

    In-addition to the @rezarizvii and @MS.Ragavendar suggestion.

    The many people faced this issue with respect to the version compatibility either by downgrading the pac to 2.4.1 or upgrading to the latest version of 2.6.3 the issues seems to resolved.

    Kindly have a look and keep use posted.

    After doing some research regarding the shared bug item. i was able to have my vs code read the latest version of PAC Cli. I did uninstall the Power platform tools on VS code as well to remove the old version. Was able to push my code apps after that. Thanks everyone for your help
