I'm experiencing an issue with an agent I created in Copilot Studio. When I publish it and use it in Teams as a chat, it repeatedly asks for permission to access the SharePoint files configured as its knowledge sources.
I need to prevent these permission prompts from appearing over and over. Ideally, the permissions should be requested only once, or the system should recognize that the corporate account the agent is using already has access to that information.
I suspect the problem is related to how the agent authenticates when accessing the knowledge sources, but I don't have the technical background to diagnose or fix it.
Could someone help me understand what's happening or guide me toward a solution?
Hi! Based on Microsoft's official documentation, the repeated permission prompt is caused by authentication not being configured to reuse the Teams SSO token.
Quick fix: In Copilot Studio go to Settings → Security → Authentication, select "Authenticate with Microsoft", save, and republish the agent to Teams. It may take a few hours to take effect. If users are mid-conversation, they can type "start over" to reload the latest version.
⚠️ Important note from Microsoft docs: this only works for 1:1 chats between the user and the agent. It's not yet available for group chats or channel messages.
Also ask your admin to verify that Restricted SharePoint Search is not enabled on the tenant, as this blocks SharePoint knowledge sources entirely.

Hope this helps!
