Ui Elements across multiple .csv files with different names

Hello, 

 

I click on the same three checkboxes in the PivotTable Fields pane for 18 .csv files that have different names. Is there a way to edit these Ui Elements so they can be used across all 18 .csv files or do I have to open each .csv file and recapture the three checkboxes for each file?

    Short answer:  Yes, you have to edit the name field of the UI you capture so it's not only pointing at the one workbook.

     

    Long answer (how to):

     

    1. Capture all your UIs for the first workbook
    2. On the far upper-right pane, click the UI elements button

    3. Find your "Window" element; hover over it, left-click the 3 dots that appear, click Edit

    4. Go to the "Name" Attribute, and change it to Operator = Contains and Value = Excel
      1. ex before:MichaelAnnis_2-1686199483875.png

         

      2. ex. after:  MichaelAnnis_3-1686199539286.png
      3. Then click Save

    Now, all the UIs under that "Window" should work for any Excel file.
