I'm totally confused about Syntex and the connection to AI Builder. Hoping someone can shed some light on billing / credits.
We have setup Syntex with pay-as-you-go as referenced here:
Pay-as-you-go services and pricing for Microsoft Syntex
We created/applied a model, set it up on a SharePoint document library and processed 101 files. It worked great. We were expecting to eventually see the costs accrue in the Azure subscription we configured for Syntex pay-as-you-go. Instead, later that day we received an e-mail that we are running out of AI Builder capacity. I looked in the AI Event table in Dataverse and there are the 101 events charging us 100 credits per page in the 101 files.
I can't figure out from any of the documentation I've been able to find why this is - why were our AI Builder credits depleted instead of charging pay-as-you-go like we signed up for? Our credits reset at the beginning of the month so I can't yet determine what would have happened had we run out of credits - would it finally have triggered pay-as-you-go or stopped processing had we exceeded the limit?
Understood. Thanks for your help.
No, pay as you go for AI Builder usage is only possible for Microsoft Syntex usage.
Thank you. With it working this way do you know if this also applies outside of the Syntex context:
"For both custom and default Power Platform environments, once the credits are exhausted, the processing transactions are charged to the meter."
In other words, is pay-as-you-go possible for AI Builder usage outside of Microsoft Syntex?
Hi,
In this documentation page , you will find following explanation:
"If you have AI Builder credits available to the environment, these credits will be used first. For both custom and default Power Platform environments, once the credits are exhausted, the processing transactions are charged to the meter."
Hope this helps.
