1I am facing a consistent issue with the “Add other existing agent” feature in Copilot Studio while testing multi‑agent orchestration.
Scenario
- I have a Meeting Scheduler bot.
- I added another existing agent to it using the Add other existing agent option.
- Proper descriptions and routing instructions are configured.
- Multi‑agent orchestration works correctly only in the first session.
Issue Observed
From the second session onwards, responses are delayed and queued:
- User messages remain unseen for a long time.
- No response is returned immediately.
- When I send 2–3 more messages, the bot suddenly responds to the first message.
- This makes the conversation feel out of sync.
Additionally:
- In the Activity pane, the request stays in “In progress” for a long time.
- Eventually, the activity status changes to “Cancelled” without a clear error.
- This happens consistently after the first successful interaction.
Environment:
- Copilot Studio (multi‑agent setup)
- Feature used: Add other existing agent
- Channel: Copilot Studio test chat (authoring canvas)
I’ve attached a screenshot showing the delayed response behavior, where earlier messages receive responses only after later messages are sent.
Has anyone else faced this issue, or is this a known limitation/bug with multi‑agent orchestration across sessions in Copilot Studio?
