Modern Date Picker never resets to blank

Hi!

Since yesterday, I have been having this issue with my date picker and the reset behavior. No matter if I click reset, it will remain with the date that was last selected WHEN DefaultDate = Blank(). I also tried to leave DefaultDate empty, but the behavior is the same.

The field resets with no issues if the DefaultDate is set to any valid date. The issue is only that the UI will keep showing a date when I reset, when the field should be blank. This only happens in editing, previously published versions still function correctly. I tested this from multiple environments and it does the same, so I am expecting this to be a Microsoft bug.

Does anyone encounter this issue also? If so, can we expect it to be resolved soon?

Thank you, I am looking for any answers, as we will have to publish the app with new updates very soon and this is affecting the logic.

The issues seems to global with the Modern Controls Date Picker is not reset the values.

you can raise a ticket with Microsoft Support team to isolate the issue - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support

For now try replacing the Modern Control with the Classic Date Picker Control

    Given that:
    • Existing published versions behave correctly.
    • The issue is reproducible across environments.
    • It specifically affects DefaultDate = Blank() after a reset.
I would treat this as a likely Microsoft platform regression.

For now, the safest workaround is to bind the Date Picker to a variable and reset that variable to Blank().

This approach has generally been more resilient to recent Date Picker control issues while Microsoft addresses the underlying bug.

I've encountered this issue as well and it's extremely frustrating. I tried the variable workaround (both context and global) with no success. I also tried testing with the old date picker tool and it exhibited the same behavior. Hopefully it will get resolved soon.
