Unable to use Canvas App Monitoring

Hi,

We have built a Canvas App that connects to SharePoint Lists and Document Libraries. The app also uses Power automate flows to update ACL, upload and delete files on SharePoint. This works fine for environment makers and system administrators - the flows are called properly.

When we then share the app to normal end users, they get the following errors -

We are unable to decipher this error but we also notice that the flows are not invoked when it should be. So we wanted to monitor the user session and check the output.

We opened the monitor and clicked "Copy Monitor Link" -

When the user then uses the link the user gets the following error -

The user is in the security group of the environment. Please let us know how to resolve this.

    Hi @prathyoo ,

Have the users with issues been added to the environment and assigned appropriate Security Roles?

This is a canvas app that connects to SharePoint. It doesn't use Dataverse. We have added the users to the the security group of the environment as the app was complaining about that. We have no idea what is an "appropriate" security role as there is no dataverse involved with the canvas app.

    Hi @prathyoo ,

Dataverse is used to manage everything in the Power Platform. For instance, the Users (Dataverse) table is the table where all users are stored that are in an environment. The data source you use for your app/flow is not influencing that.

In this topic you can find a similar issue with more information the security role settings that work: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Using-Flows/Permissions-or-Security-Roles-for-Running-Flows-from-PowerApps/td-p/2259946
