Power Automate Desktop - UI Flow Service Not Working

Hey all,

I am trying to set up a connection on one of my machines to run an unattended flow.

But what I am getting is the below error "The Power Automate service (UIFlowService) is not running on this machine

Power AUtomate UI flow Service not running.PNG

Upon investigation the Service 'UIFlowServiec' is being stopped.

I have tried to start it as an admin, (restart does not come up), and I cannot get the status to change on this service.

Has anybody else had similar Issues, and point me in the right direction?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Power Automate, and that did not do anything.

    Hello @Srini007,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Unfortuantly I used this guide.

My IT admin and I tried method #1 running Task Manager as administrator. But the 'restart' option for 'UIFlowService' is greyed out for us, we can only click 'start' and with that nothing happens.

    For method #2

We could not locate UIFlowServices under the processes tab.

The 'Restart' option for a service is only available, when it is already running. It is normal to not have that as an option when it's stopped. You should simply try to start it.

The same applies to it under the Processes tab - it will only be there if it's running.

Have you tried applying the step #2 in the guide and delete the session.json file before trying to start it?

Have you tried rebooting your machine?

Can you try checking the Application logs in the Windows Event Manager for any error messages at the time when you try to start the service?

@Agnius On Monday, We went through method #2 and restarted the PC. After that did not fix the issue. We decided to uninstall PAD off that PC, and reinstall it. After Re-installing It looked like UI flow flow service started working, and we started to add it to the machine group. I Unfortunately  was off the next day, but as of this morning. We are back to square one. UI flow service has stopped working on this pc.

I definitly know security updates / patching was done on Tuesday. Would anything in there conflict and prevent 'UIFlowService' from running? How can I tell?

Have you checked the Application logs under the Windows Event Viewer as I suggested previously?

Try to look for error logs at startup that would indicate the service fails to start.

Alternatively, talk to your IT support to see if they have any policies in place that could possibly prevent the service from working properly.

Try by navigating to the path

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Power Automate Desktop

Run TroubleshootingToolUI while keeping everything as default

Now check the status of UIFlowService in task manager. It should be operational.
    It worked for me.
