How do I integrate a New Copilot Studio agent into Power Apps as an in-app chatbot?

Hello all,

I’ve created an app and an AI agent in New Copilot Studio Experience, and I’m trying to embed the agent in Power Apps as a chatbot. When I checked online and in Microsoft documentation, I came across this note: Starting February 2, 2026, you can't add the Copilot control to new canvas apps. Existing apps with this control will remain functional for a limited time but will eventually no longer be supported.

What I need is for the chatbot to stay inside my app. I don’t want it opening on the right side of the app in the web experience, especially since this new way of opening Copilot for apps only works on web and not in Teams. I also tried building a chatbot UI in the app and setting up automation, but that isn’t working with the agent I created in the New Copilot Studio Experience. I’ve tried several approaches, but none have worked, so I’d appreciate any help getting the agent embedded in my app.

Thank You !!

Based on Microsoft's current roadmap, there is no supported way to embed a New Copilot Studio Experience agent directly inside a Canvas app while keeping the chatbot within the app window. If an embedded chatbot is a critical business requirement—particularly for Microsoft Teams, where the Copilot side pane isn't available—you'll need to consider an alternative architecture, such as a custom chat interface backed by your own APIs or automation.

If your solution depends on a native embedded Copilot experience, I recommend monitoring the Microsoft Power Platform release plans and Copilot Studio documentation for future announcements, as Microsoft has not yet announced a direct replacement for the deprecated Canvas App Copilot control.

    Hello @11manish,

Thank you for the response. I also tried using APIs and automation to build a custom chatbot interface, but it did not work as expected. Since I created this Agent in the New Copilot Studio Experience, automation was not properly working for this case scenario. Is there another way to achieve this, or should I wait until Microsoft announces a replacement for the deprecated canvas app copilot control?

Based on the current Microsoft capabilities, there isn't a supported way to achieve this today.

The New Copilot Studio Experience does not currently expose a supported API or embedded chat control that allows you to build your own chatbot UI inside a

Canvas app and have it communicate directly with the agent. While you can build custom chat experiences using Power Automate, Azure Functions, or other APIs

, these won't integrate with a New Copilot Studio agent in the same way as the deprecated Canvas App Copilot control.

    So, your options today are:
    • Use the Copilot side pane, which is the supported integration model for the New Copilot Studio Experience (currently web only).
    • Build a completely custom chatbot backed by your own APIs or Azure AI services instead of a Copilot Studio agent, if embedding inside the app is a hard requirement.
    • Wait for Microsoft to announce a replacement for the deprecated Canvas App Copilot control. Microsoft has announced its deprecation but has not yet provided a direct embedded alternative for the New Copilot Studio Experience.
