    Hello,
The SystemError in Copilot Studio is a generic platform-side failure indicating that a request reached the service but failed internally before producing a response, rather than a problem with your logic. It is most commonly caused by transient platform issues, non-deterministic behavior of event triggers, oversized payloads, connector/authentication edge cases, or known platform bugs.

These errors often resolve on retry, but recurring issues require structured troubleshooting—checking trigger type, payload size, environment alignment, and execution patterns. A key step is capturing the Conversation ID and timestamp, which allows Microsoft to investigate backend failures. For long-term reliability, it’s recommended to avoid depending on event-triggered execution and instead adopt a queue + worker architecture, where Copilot handles conversational tasks while durable systems manage event processing, ensuring predictable and resilient behavior.

    Hi,

This SystemError typically indicates a transient issue in the channel or a failure in the backend action (flow/connector) even though the agent may have processed the request. First, check Copilot Studio → Activity logs to confirm if the response was generated successfully. Then verify any connected flows/connectors (especially “Respond to agent”) are returning a valid response and not failing. If it works in test but fails in Teams(or other channel), it’s often a channel/session issue, so republishing the agent or starting a new conversation usually resolves it; otherwise, it may require admin/support escalation if persistent.

We are seeing this exact same error for all of our customers agents published in Teams, even in our own tenant, agents in Teams are not replying or giving this exact same error.

Seeing the same issue, copilot studio agents deployed in Teams stopped replying or gives the systems error message.
