The cursor is not visible in a combo box field within a form

Hi All,

In this case, you can see the mouse cursor after the word Hello in this datacard text (Description).
Of course, the mouse cursor is visible when I click in the field before typing.

When I press Tab key, the next field to jump is Combo 1.

Combo 1 is a combo box linked with a SharePoint list choice column.
The issue is that, when I press Tab key from Description, the mouse cursor is not visible in the comobox.

If I click in the combo, it shows the options as usual, and here the mouse cursor is visible.

My question is, is it possible to see the cursor when I move from the previous field using the Tab key?
Because right now the cursor is only visible when I click the mouse.

Thanks in advance!

To show that the classic combo box has focus, you should use FocusedBorderColor and FocusedBorderThickness. The classic combo box control will only have a cursor if the IsSearchable property is set to true; otherwise there will be no cursor when the choices are shown. This is just how that control works.

If having a cursor show in a combo box is a requirement, you could try enabling Modern Controls in Settings.

I can confirm that the Combo Box provided with the Modern Controls does show a cursor on focus.
You will have to rebuild your data cards using the Modern Controls where you require them which can be a tedious process.

    Hi  ,

    Thank you for your response!

The issue with modern control is that the combo box does not have the "Tab Index" property. So, when I press Tab key from the field Description, the mouse cursor does not place into the combo.
I need both features, the Tab Index and the coursor visible.

    Best Regards,

    Emilio

I understand what you are saying about the Tab Index as I have had to do a lot with Accessibility.

To truly know the Tab location of a control, you have to publish out the App and run it. This is EXTREMELY frustrating.

The Applications Insight tool for Microsoft is a good tool for determining somethings regarding Accessibility

Custom tab indexes are no longer supported (anything greater than zero is treated and zero and the following rules will apply). See here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/accessible-apps-structure

AcceptsFocus specifies whether controls can be reached by keyboard. For classic controls, the equivalent property is TabIndex.

If you need to use the classic controls, try using the Focus Border properties to highlight the control has focus.

It is frustrating sometimes when you are just trying to do something that seems like it should be trivial but has a major impact on useability for your end users.

I hope you are able to find something that works for you.
