Building Model Driven App in Common Data Service

I was given an excellent solution to editable grids by @HSheild

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Common-Data-Service-for-Apps/Grid-datasheet-form/m-p/458624

However, when I try to use that in a sub-grid it doesn't seem to work.

I have two custom entities: Project and Project Detail.  The project form contains a sub grid of Project Detail, which i want to be an editable grid (see screenprint1).  However, it doesn't seem to work - (screenprint2)

    Hi @ghdunn ,

Do you want the editable grid to work within a Sub-Grid in your Entity Form?

Have you enabled "Editable Grid" option for the Sub-Grid Control within your Entity Form?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The Editable grid could work within the Sub-Grid control in the Entity Form.

On your side, please check if you have enabled the "Editable Grid" option for the Sub-Grid field Control within your Entity Form:

Please consider take a try with the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/make-grids-lists-editable-custom-control#make-a-sub-grid-on-a-form-editable

In addition, some data types aren’t editable in editable grids, please check the following article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/make-grids-lists-editable-custom-control#data-types-that-arent-editable-in-an-editable-grid

    Best regards,

    Thanks @v-xida-msft

i was making the mistake of just carrying out the same steps as I was given in the first solution, not actually going in through the sub-grid form. Your solution was perfect...thank you!
