Converting PDF to Image File for OCR in PAD

Hello,

I am looking for some sort of free tool to convert pdf to image in order to use PAD OCR. Please advise what can I use? or any other ideas to OCR a Scanned PDF without using premium tools.

I have tried extracting text from images in PDF using Extract text from PDF.

Can you take a look at the below PDF actions.

Hello @VJR ,

OCR without Image is not an option currently in PAD, What I am looking for is to convert scanned pdf's to Image files to perform OCR because its not reading the PDF's correctly and printing some gibberish character's.

Okay, now I understand better.

No direct free tool available.

This may not work if you have more graphics but you can try opening the PDF in a Word document using "Run Application" action.

Below is what I got from PAD on a scanned pdf.

LHS is sample scanned PDF (taken from here)

RHS is same document opened in Word

I do not have Adobe Acrobat premium version installed on my machine.

Hey

PAD supports OCR to extract text from both PDF and images now. So if this is still an issue of yours, there is now a pretty solid solution for it.
