Question about copilot studio as pay as you go

Hi All,

Is it possible to have Dataverse usage charged to the entire tenant's capacity, while Copilot Studio is billed pay-as-you-go?

We are already using gigabytes of data storage in Dataverse and have purchased enough extra space for the entire tenant at a cost specified in our enterprise agreement.

We want to avoid paying twice by also using a pay-as-you-go plan.

Its what I have also. I have dataverse that I pay for separately from Pay as you Go for Copilot messages. Yes.

@Michael E. Gernaey is there any documentation on this? For us when try to enable it tries to default to our dataverse subscription.

Hi there, you could add your agent to a new PAYG dataverse environment liked to the same azure subscription as your copilot studio. This way it wouldn't use any of your allocated dataverse storage. When creating a new environment you will see the option to use PAYG.

Sorry, let's quantify each part.

In Dataverse there are multiple charges

You will get a brand new environment (or pick one already existing)

Capacity <== The first 1 GB DB & file storage is free. You pay for Overages in this environment beyond that

log Capacity <==is bill right away IF you turn it on

User Licenses <== this you do not as you already have them

Copilot Messages <== this you pay for per message

So the question is do you pay for Dataverse, yes if you go over the capacity that is given to you free. You are not able to use Capacity from your tenant, although you CAN use addons in your PAYG
