Common Data Service and SharePoint List

Can I connect a SharePoint List to a Common Data Service Entity (ala BDC)?

I have some app solutions to build, CDS is a great place for the data due to complexity, but some of the data should be exposed via a SharePoint list.

Am I missing something obvious?

    Hi @philsspokas,

Yes, there is a way to connect Common Data Service with SharePoint List, take a look at the following article:

Load data from external data sources to the Common Data Service using Power Query

    Regards,

    Hi,

The article discusses how to load data *into* CDS, but, not how to get data *out* of CDS.

I'm familar with using Power Query to load data, Power Apps to view data, Excel to "export" which is really a live connect.

What I'd like to see is the ability to connect a SharePoint List to CDS similar to what you can do with Business Data Connectivity to a SQL Server.

    Thanks.

Hi, any updates on this? I know about the link you provided already. I'm looking to expose CDS data in SharePoint via a list.

    Hi @philsspokas,

Thanks for following up - @v-micsh-msft any thoughts on @philsspokas's question of "[Is there an] ability to connect a SharePoint List to CDS similar to what you can do with Business Data Connectivity to a SQL Server?"

    Cheers,

Is there any update regarding this question?

I'm faced with exactly the same challange. If I could use information from entities from the common data modell to Tag Documents in SharePoint, this would help me managing MaterData fundamentally.
