How do I update sharePoint Document library column by names of the approvers (7-8)

Hello,

I am trying to get the names of the approver to the SignedBy column in Document Library:

This is the error that am getting: it says that the file is locked by me.

The second screenshot will show what I have selected to update the column value in Flow

Any help will be greatly appreciated 🙂

I suspect the problem is that you are trying to update an item inside a loop being driven by a get item of the same item. The key to doing this kind of thing is to assemble all the information that you want to update as variables and then do an update item outside the context of any other action using the variables. Here's an approval where I do something similar.

two things

1) You are still trying to update the properties in a Loop. That shouldn't be necessary.

2) Do you (or whoever's email it is in the error) happen to have the file open in an external editor? That will also lock the file.

1. As soon as I select the ID, it goes into loop right away. I apologise am so new to flow I might not be able to answer the questions correctly.
2. The file is been dropped from an SAP Actian Process into another library, I just downloaded the same file and converted that to a table format for my test flow. Is that the reason it is showing locked?

I assume you used an Office App to convert it. Did you close the Office app after converting and saving the file?

Yes, I did close the file and then uploaded the file for testing.
