Licensing - Let multiple users access a PowerApp through one Office 365 account

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the licensing options in PowerApps.

I have created a very basic application (datasource: SharePoint) which I would like to share with 120 people.

They don't need to be able to modify this application or create their own, I just want them to be able to run mine.

What is important to mention, is that none of the 120 users have an Office 365 license of any sort.

Could someone please help me figure out my options?

My application doesn't use any premium connectors, so I don't think the per app plan of $5/app/user is needed.

Do I need to buy 120 Office 365 licenses? Or should I buy one Office 365 license and tell all 120 users they

can access the PowerApp through that one Office 365 account?

I have read some things about letting multiple users access an app through one account, but I can't seem to figure out if it's legal. Buying 120 licenses is just not worth it considering the simplicity of my application, but I do want to respect the licensing policies and I definitely don't want to upset Bill Gates with any illegal activities 😉

Any help would be appreciated!

Your only real option is to give all 120 users Office 365 licenses.  Even external users need to have a license to run a Power app.  Letting multiple users access an app using a single licensed account is a violation of the license terms.  If the app uses SharePoint as a data source then the users would need an Office license anyway to use the data source.  You can give them almost any Office 365 license since they all include Power Apps and SharePoint access.  YOu could look at Business Basic or Front line worker licenses.  Those start at $5 per user per month retail.
