Collaborative work in powerapps - syntax problem

Greetings colleagues, I need support with the following.

We are working collaboratively with my team on PowerApps, but we have had the problem that the syntax breaks, I can be working normally with English syntax, using ";" to separate statements in formulas, and using "," to separate arguments, for example for a color RGBA(255, 255, 0, 1)

The problem is that when another colleague enters the PowerApps Studio to work, those "," are changed to ";" and when I return everything shows a syntax error. Everything breaks, controls look black, others are not even shown and a thousand syntax errors appear.

I had already worked on PowerApps before, but by myself. And even if you changed your PC to another language, the syntax was automatically translated to the language you are using. Either using "," or ";" So it didn't affect me at all, nothing broke. Today in collaborative work if that happens.

How can I avoid this problem? Maybe set a language so that regardless of the user's language/region it will always be the same to read the syntax?? Upon investigation, there should be an option called "Use English-language formula syntax" but I have looked for it in all the menus and it does not exist.

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

Yes - that is a known issue on collaboration and other than changing everyone's language to English, there is not much else of a solution. However if you disable collaberation and simply go in one at a time, the system should take care of the syntax swapping depending on who loads the session.

    Greetings,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Thank you for your assistance, but unfortunately, simply changing the regional settings did not solve the issue. Disabling collaborative mode did not resolve it either. Below are the steps that worked for me while keeping collaborative mode enabled.

    1. All users must exit PowerApps Studio.

    2. To fix the corrupted code, you have two options:

    OPTION 1:
Restore a saved version from before the issue occurred (the most recent changes will be lost).

If you choose this option, proceed directly to step 3. If you do not want to lose the latest changes, try Option 2.

    OPTION 2:
Download the .msapp file and manually fix it using a text editor such as VS Code (or any other editor). You can use an assistant like GitHub Copilot to analyze the files and identify where to use (,) or (;).

    • Unpack the .msapp file.
    • Replace (,) or (;) as required in each case using the text editor.
    • Repack the application.
    • Import it back into PowerApps.
    1. After resolving the (,) or (;) issue, ask the rest of the team to make the following change on their computers before reopening PowerApps Studio:

    2. Set the browser language to English (this is the main cause of the issue).

    3. They can then open the app and verify that everything is working correctly.

    NOTE:
To speed up the process of fixing the (,) or (;) issues, I have shared a PowerShell script. The script automatically unpacks the app, identifies whether (,) or (;) should be used based on whether the expression is an argument or a formula, and then repacks the application.

Simply change the file extension to .ps1, copy it into the root folder of the unpacked app, and run:

    .\fix-powerfx.ps1 -InputMsapp "NAME-APP.msapp" -OutputMsapp "NAME-APP-NEW.msapp"

    fix-powerfx .txt

Good that you got it working - seems a lot of work though.
