Hi everyone,

I have a scenario related to Copilot Studio / M365 Copilot agents and SharePoint integration, and I’d appreciate guidance or best practices from the community.

Scenario

I have three separate SharePoint sites:
  • HR SharePoint site
  • IT SharePoint site
  • Operations SharePoint site

I created a Copilot Studio agent (or M365 Copilot agent using Agent Builder / Copilot Studio light).

Requirement

I want:

One single agent embedded and accessible on all pages of:
  • HR SharePoint site
  • IT SharePoint site
  • Operations SharePoint site

In other words, the same agent should be available everywhere, regardless of which site the user is on.

Any guidance, architecture suggestions, or documentation references would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

You want to reuse one custom Copilot agent across three separate SharePoint Online sites (HR, IT, Operations) so that the same agent is accessible on all pages of each site. Unfortunately, his is not supported out-of-the-box. From Copilot Studio you can only deploy it to one SharePoint Site at a time.

    What you can do:
    • Deploy the agent to one site (such as a main home site or whichever central site makes sense). This will be the agent’s “home.” Optionally, approve the agent on that site (to move the *.agent file to Site Assets and mark it as ready).

    • On each of your other sites (HR, IT, Operations), edit the home page and add the Agent Link web part. When configuring this web part, search for and select the agent you created on the central site. The web part will display a button or link. When clicked, it opens your single agent in the chat pane on the right.

    • Now all users need to do is click that link on any of the three sites, and they’ll get the same Copilot agent (hosted on your central site) in the side panel. After a user opens it once, the agent may also show up in their SharePoint Copilot sidebar (site panel) for quicker access next time. Regardless of which SharePoint Site they are on.

Important: This only works for users who have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license (or are enabled via Copilot PAYG).

    Hope it helps!
