Hi! 👋 Great use case — and yes, this is absolutely possible using Copilot Studio's Event Triggers for autonomous agents.

What you need: Event Triggers

Copilot Studio supports Event triggers, which let your agent act autonomously without waiting for a user message. The agent fires automatically when an external event occurs — exactly what SOC monitoring needs.

Prerequisite: Requires generative orchestration enabled on the agent.

How to set it up — step by step

Create your agent in Copilot Studio with generative orchestration on

On the Overview page, go to the Triggers section → Add trigger

Choose the trigger matching your detection source:

"When a row is added, modified or deleted" (Dataverse)

"When an item is created" (SharePoint)

Recurrence trigger — to poll on a schedule

Define the trigger payload — a JSON message describing the event

Add tools: use connectors and agent flows for investigation and remediation

Write agent instructions on how to triage and respond by severity
