Managing Welcome / Restart Conversations Topics

I deploy my Copilot Studio agents to Microsoft Teams and M365 Copilot.

In Teams / M365 Copilot, is there a recommended pattern / UIUX to show a welcome or intro message not only on first conversation start, but also after significant agent updates? Currently, users complain there are no welcome messages in Teams / M365 Copilot even though I have a Conversation Start topic with a welcome message that shows everytime i hit "New Test Session".

How should I create topics/flows to restart/reset conversation while wiping out previous conversation data (e.g. when user is inactive after 30mins, give them option to restart or continue)? I notice teams do not allow this.

Separate question related to UI: How to make the Copilot Studio agent icon fit well in the frame? Users complain the logo is too small because we are forced to have a solid fill background taking up the space.

I cannot answer the first part of your post, but the part about the agent icon I can help with. Most likely the image you are using has a lot of white space around it. You need to trim that white space. How you will do that will depend on the tools you have available. I can use PhotoShop. If you can use that, you would use the Trim feature:

It is hard to tell here because it is just blank white space, so I drew a yellow box around the perimeter of the image in PhotoShop. Once trimmed, the image looks like this:

You can see how much the white space has been reduced. This is why your image appears small.

I have already made the icon fit as big as possible. However, there is still a solid fill border.

Unless someone else has another suggestion, what I mentioned has always worked for me. Using the image above with an added border around the edge so you can see the bounding box of the image, this is what it looks like before I remove the whitespace from the image:

Trim the white space, and it fills the space:

Although maybe we're not doing this in the same way as your menu is different than my menu for changing the agent's icon. Maybe that is part of the issue. These are my menus in Copilot Studio. I can edit the agent icon from the details or just clicking on the icon in the menu bar. Either way opens the menu above and I have no option to change the change the color.

My apologies, I meant changing the agent icon that I published to Teams and M365 Copilot. Not the agent icon n Copilot Studio.

I am satisfied with the agent icon size in Copilot Studio.

Hi @YJ-02010636-0,

The "Conversation Start" topic is not really supported in Teams or M365 Copilot. It only runs once for an agent in Teams. And does not run in M365 Copilot at all.
