Multi-language support in Copilot Studio

I would like to ask if I only have English documents, but I would like the chatbot to support both English and Chinese, is it possible for Copilot Studio to translate all question into English before Generative Answer node if I don't want to use prompt action.

    If the user asks a question in Chinese, the agent can answer in Chinese (even if your documents are in English).
     
    The prompt action is needed if Dynamic language switching is required mid-conversation (Set up an agent for dynamic language switching). So if you want the agent to detect the language the user is speaking in and be able to change languages throughout the conversation, you would need to use the prompt action.

    Hi

    Yes, you can totally do this without building any translation step.

    Copilot Studio's Generative answers already handles this automatically - it's called "language-agnostic querying." So your chatbot can receive questions in Chinese and pull answers from your English documents without any extra work from you.

    Just go to Settings → Languages and enable Chinese (Simplified). That's it - no prompt actions or translation logic needed.

    The system will understand Chinese questions and match them against your English knowledge base on its own.

    Publish and reset convo should help.
