How can we view existing dependencies on a field?
Hi @tporter1,
In make.powerapps.com, go to Solutions --> open your solution --> select/open your entity --> under Fields, select the field and click "Show Dependencies" button in the command bar. If you don't have a solution, create one and add your entity to it.
Hope this helps!
Hey @tporter1 ,
In order to see existing dependencies on a field. You can follow the below steps:
1. Go the solution. Select you entity which that 'field' is a part of.
2. On the "Fields" tab. Select the field you want to see the dependency of.
3. From top command Navbar you'll see an option for "Show Dependency". Click on that it'll take to another page showing the list of all the things (BPF's, flows, relationships etc) that are dependent on that particular field.
Thanks for taking my input. If you like it, a thumbs up is highly appreciated!
Warmly. 🙂
How do you find the dependency in the component once identified? for example: A form has a dependency on a view. How do I find where in the form the view is being used?
I do have a subgrid on the form that uses the entity where the view resides. However, a different view is used in the data source for the default view AND the View Selector in the Additional Options is turned off.
I cannot find a direct use of the view that is indicated in the dependency.
Ideas anyone?
Hi @urklnme,
Not sure if you resolved this, but if you "Show Dependencies' in the classic UI (open the solution --> click "Switch to Classic" button), you'll be able to double click on the Dependent item and it will open. It usually makes things easier to investigate:
For your issue on the view, set the view selector on and only pick the view that you want. Make sure the other view is not selected even if greyed out.
